So thinking am bying 0.5 0f a metre It was actually 0.3 od a metre Which are really no good to string anything much together. Notbwhat i wanted sadly i have to double them up to get a usable length

Decent quality lead and is perfectly adequate for its intended use. Not chunky if that's what you are looking for but absolutely does the job.
